THIRD
WORLD NETWORK FEATURES
We would like to introduce to you the Third World
Network Features, a features service that deals with Third World
affairs and development issues. It is operated by the Third World
Network.
Third
World Network Features are written mainly by top journalists, writers
and thinkers in the Third World.
The
features service which was inaugurated in 1985 covers a wide
range of issues and topics which include economics, finance,
basic needs, environment and culture, as well as political developments.
The
emphasis of the features is on providing background analysis
of structures which form the basis of many current problems
facing the Third World today.
Our
features service aims to become a voice for non-governmental
organizations in the Third World as many of our stories are
collected from groups working at grassroots level, offering
fresh perspectives as seen by people involved in community activities
and development. This is possible because the Third World Network
enjoys a close relationship with NGOs in many countries.
