Dear friends and colleagues,

We are pleased to share with you the attached letter sent by almost 70 signatories from across the world to Ms Precious Matsoso and Mr Roland Driece, the Co-chairs of the Bureau of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Body (INB) at the World Health Organizaton, mandated to develop a new pandemic instrument. The signatories call for the concretization of equity in the pandemic instrument, stressing that equity should be front and center in the process and in the content of the Pandemic Instrument negotiations, recalling that was originally tabled to counteract the inequitable access to medical products that was further exposed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The letter was initiated by the Feminists for a People’s Vaccine Campaign, a network comprised of over 30 civil society feminist and access to medicines organizations and is hosted by Development Alternatives with Women for a New Era (DAWN) and Third World Network.
