TWN Articles on the UN Dialogue on Financial Crisis and TWN Analysis on the G20 Summit Outcomes

Here’s documents to a compilation of articles by TWN on the UN General Assembly’s dialogue on the financial and economic crisis and its impacts on developing countries.  The thematic interactive dialogue with the Commission of Experts led by Stiglitz was held between 25-27 March, and involved the presentation and discussion of the Commission’s revised recommendations and the numerous interventions made by country delegates during the UN General Assembly session.  Also attached is TWN’s analysis on the Group of 20 (G20) Summit’s outcome and communiqué released on 2 April.  The assessment of the G20’s commitments is contrasted to the UN Commission’s recommendations in the key areas that concern developing countries prospects for recovery and development, concluding that the UN recommendations offer more for safeguarding development.
